Big
Rhythm Wine was
formed in 2004 in Harwich Massachusetts and is
comprised of
11 (but usually no more than 6 at one time) unique and talented
professional New England musicians. All of whom respect and love The Grateful
Dead and their music. All of whom are "deadheads" through and through.
Since the band's inception in January 2004 we have been about a
celebration of Grateful Dead music, of teamwork and of stretching the musical
boundaries of this music that we love. Big
Rhythm Wine
are not constrained to the work of just The Dead. At any given
BRW
show the band easily sways through classic Jerry Garcia Band songs to
original compositions from 2007's original CD "Uncorked"
to more modern covers from Ratdog or Phil and Friends with even some obscure
or obvious Rock Cover thrown in. The finished
product is a fun, high energy 'Shake yer bones' Grateful Dead Experience. As
of 2011 BRW Ocassionally have had Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and former
Grateful Dead member Tom Constanten sit in with the group. |

Adam
brings a unique sound to the "Jerry" part of the band. It is a
mixture of rock, Jazz and soul while still holding true to that Jerry
sound and style.
A native Floridian (or, as they're sometimes called, Floridiots), Adam
has lived in the Boston area for the past 5 years. In addition to
playing in the Adam Douglass Trio, he plays from time to time with Bald
Walter, Booty Vortex, and does random straight-ahead jazz gigs.
His past
bands such as Unkle Funkle, The Glass Fracture, Mojo Filter, and Hot
Pocket have led him to open for such bands as Medeski, Martin, and Wood;
The Ohio Players, the Slip, and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.

Kevin
is a native of Southeastern Ma but currenty resides in Beverly,
MA. Over his almost 20 year career he has played in several different
popular regional cover bands. Currently he also plays with
the Boston based cover band Cosmic Igloo. Kevin met keyboardist
Dick Sage while working at EU Wurlitzer Music and played along side him
for several years in Worcester’s premier jam band The Nipsies. Past
bands also include the Blue Dogs, The Beale St. Blues Band and Tore Down
featuring Erica Rodney.
Kevin brings our most authentic Phil Lesh Style to date and rock solid
vocal chops as well.
 |
Pino
is the resident Professor of Dead-olgy and sparkplug of the band. No one
forces more ummmph out of a 4 string bass guitar than Pino. No one has more fun
playing than Pino. He comes to us from Holbrook MA via Medford MA.
His band, Boston Punk-Keltic band Big Bad
Bollocks, still play these days occasionally but peaked in the late
1990's. They
were a top band on the Boston punk/ska scene actually opening for The Mighty
Mighty Bosstones at The Worcester Centrum
one New Years Eve. Pino was also a guest player on The Bosstones
album "Pay Attention".
He also spent time honing his
Grateful Dead skills in South Shore Dead band American
Beauty and started out in BRW as lead guitarist.

Jason
flows. Like a stream or a river he flows with ease. Whether manning the
kit alone or with his drum partner Pete. He brings a solid groove to our
sound. Jason started his drumming with Dead band Lazy Lightning.
 |
Pete
is the alpha male of the two drummers and is more likely to push a
groove to soaring heights than his partner in drums. Pete has played and recorded
extensively over the years with Care Factor Zero and Ink The Sky.

Scott
Guberman became well known when he adopted Hartford, CT as his new city
and began to play with No Soap Radio. He then joined Shakedown and
played for several years, gaining even more popularity as an
exceptionally talented keyboardist, especially on an improvisational
level. Guberman has been a songwriter since his teen years and put his
songwriting talents to work when he put together 4:20, nominated in
Hartford Advocates Grand Band Slam every year of 4:20’s existence. The
band was an all-original band, playing only music they wrote themselves.
?
Scott Guberman has played with some
well-established musicians such as Jeff Pevar of Crosby Stills and Nash
, George Baker of Marvin Gaye’s band, Award winning bassist Joe Gallant,
Buddy Cage of Bob Dylan’s band, members of B.B. King’s band, Tom
Constanten of the Grateful Dead, Mike Gordon of Phish, Dave Stoltz of
Dickey Betts and Great Southern, Jaimoe of the Allman Brothers, Kali
Baba McConnell and Tim Sears of Arlo Guthrie, and Vince Welnick of the
Grateful Dead.

|
Sage
hails originally from Worcester MA. He now lives in Providence RI and
also plays with bands 5 of a Kind and the New Prophets. Dick's laid back
style and devotion to the keyboard works of Brent Mydland and Richard
Manuel make him a great fit for BRW.

Dave Harris

|
Brett resides in Chatham and is
best known musically as the ringleader for the band The Kind based out of
Boston. Brett (not Brent) can wail the organ sound (like Brent) as well as
honky tonk the piano parts
(like Keith).
 |
Dave
is a native
Cape
Codder
and while the youngest of the group at 20 has a veteran amount of
musical work under his belt. He started piano at a very young age and
while in High School won a battle of the bands in a Allman Brothers/Pink
Floyd fusion of psychedelic jam blues. He spent a few years playing Cape
clubs in his band Sienna Sky as well as putting on self promoted shows
such as Dave Harris presents : The Dark Side of the Moon (with 2010's
Top 10 American Idol'er Siobhan Magnus). Dave also has a background in
sound engineering having worked for 6 years with Norstar Technical
Solutions. Dave is also a member of Care Factor Zero with Mike.
Dave's many influences include Rick Wright (Pink Floyd), Page
McConnell (Phish), Danny Louis (Govt Mule) and Greg Allman. |
